Hello, I’m Ursula – and Korea has taken my heart by storm.

My journey into the fascinating world of Korean culture began in October 2022, when a streaming service suggested the movie “20th Century Girl” and shortly afterwards the series “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”. The storytelling, the cinematic aesthetics and the emotional depth were so different from what I knew from Hollywood – and I wanted more.

Soon I was watching series in the original language with subtitles – and that was my luck. The language seemed familiar, almost safe. From that moment on, my interest in Korea was awakened – and it grew with every new discovery.

Food plays a central role in many Korean dramas – this aroused my curiosity about Korean cuisine. I was soon cooking kimchi, bibimbap & co. at home – and my family enthusiastically followed suit. From there, my path led me to Korean self-care culture, skin care, hiking in nature and old traditions that are still practiced today.

At the beginning of 2024, a colleague of my daughter opened up a whole new chapter for me: K-Pop. I was lucky enough to see ATEEZ live in Zurich: Towards the Light: Will to Power. A rousing experience full of energy – and another milestone on my personal trip to Korea.

KoreanVibes.ch was born out of this passion.

A platform for everyone in Switzerland who – like me – is enthusiastic about Korean culture or is just discovering it. K-food, K-beauty, K-pop, series, language, travel and much more come together here. Authentic, inspired and with a lot of heart.

Welcome to KoreanVibes.ch – it’s great to have you here!

Hi, I’m Janina and I support my mom in her Korean passion.

Even though I’m not quite as immersed in the Korean world as she is, I’m particularly fascinated by the movies – and the food. “Healer” with Ji Chang Wook is my series highlight, preferably combined with a portion of Japchae. A clear recommendation!

I’ll be starting my architecture degree in fall 2025 – and I’m already looking forward to our trip to Korea together in 2026. I find modern Korean design particularly exciting: whether on buildings, in interiors or even in the automotive sector. But I’m also fascinated by traditional architecture – especially because it often shows technically sophisticated construction methods that interact harmoniously with nature.

In my leisure time, I read a lot – and to balance out my day-to-day work and screen time, I’m a goalie in a men’s ice hockey team.

At KoreanVibes.ch, I take care of design issues and the social media presence – and keep my mother’s back free so that she can devote herself fully to her passion.
