fascinating world of Korean culture began in October 2022, when a streaming service suggested the movie <em>\u201c20th Century Girl\u201d<\/em> and shortly afterwards the series <em>\u201cHometown Cha-Cha-Cha\u201d<\/em>. The storytelling, the cinematic aesthetics and the emotional depth were so different from what I knew from Hollywood &#8211; and I wanted more.<\/p>\n<p>Soon I was watching series in the original language with subtitles &#8211; and that was my luck. The language seemed familiar, almost safe. From that moment on, my interest in Korea was awakened &#8211; and it grew with every new discovery.<\/p>\n<p>Food plays a central role in many Korean dramas &#8211; this aroused my curiosity about Korean cuisine. I was soon cooking kimchi, bibimbap &amp; co. at home &#8211; and my family enthusiastically followed suit. From there, my path led me to Korean self-care culture, skin care, hiking in nature and old traditions that are still practiced today.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of 2025, a colleague of my daughter opened up a whole new chapter for me: K-Pop. I was lucky enough to see ATEEZ live in Zurich: <em>Towards the Light: Will to Power<\/em>. A rousing experience full of energy &#8211; and another milestone on my personal trip to Korea.<\/p>\n<p>KoreanVibes.ch was born out of this passion.<\/p>\n<p>A platform for everyone in Switzerland who &#8211; like me &#8211; is enthusiastic about Korean culture or is just discovering it. K-food, K-beauty, K-pop, series, language, travel and much more come together here. class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Hi, I&#8217;m Janina and I support my mom in her Korean passion.<\/p>\n<p>Even though I&#8217;m not quite as immersed in the Korean world as she is, I&#8217;m particularly fascinated by the movies &#8211; and the food. <em>\u201cHealer\u201d<\/em> with Ji Chang Wook is my series highlight, preferably combined with a portion of Japchae. A clear recommendation!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be starting my architecture degree in fall 2025 &#8211; and I&#8217;m already looking forward to our trip to Korea together in 2026. I find modern Korean design particularly exciting: whether on buildings, in interiors or even in the automotive sector.
